Shannon Lewis is a Performer and Creator known for her signature style and invention.
Born and raised in Toronto and now a dual citizen of the US and Canada, Shannon brings a unique perspective to her craft. As a competitive gymnast and dancer trained in many styles and techniques, her career has spanned the globe from Broadway to Feature films to the Radio City Rockettes. Shannon has had roles in 10 groundbreaking Broadway shows that have become new classics. She created the internationally renowned "I Gotcha" girl in the 1999 Tony Award winning original cast of Fosse. She starred as "Ursula" in the Broadway revival of Sweet Charity opposite Christina Applegate and played "Miss Krumholtz" in the Broadway Revival of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying opposite leading men Daniel Radcliffe, Nick Jonas and Darren Criss. Other Broadway roles include: The Mystery of Edwin Drood; The People in the Picture; Curtains; The Look of Love; Contact; Candide and Crazy for You. She has had starring roles in Broadway National Tours A Chorus Line and Pippin. Off Broadway credits include: Fanny; Damn Yankees; Tenderloin; Sweet Adeline. Shannon has appeared in 6 Tony Awards television broadcasts including features alongside Matthew Morrison and Lea Michelle in 2011 and Neil Patrick Harris in the historic opening number "Bigger" on the 2013 Tony Awards. She was invited to perform opposite Bill Irwin in the Kennedy Center Honors tribute to Steve Martin and has appeared on The Today Show, The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, Broadway on Broadway, The Drama Desk Awards, Broadway Bares and many Industrials and National commercials. She danced in the epic opening number of the Feature Film TED 2 and was featured as "Fraulein Schweiger" in the recent Sound of Music..LIVE! on NBC starring Carrie Underwood. In 2011, Shannon was honoured to receive Broadway's Historic Gypsy Robe.
As a Choreographer, Shannon currently has a theatrical project in development with DREAMWORKS and is the Creator of StyleSmash Project being developed for the US and Canada. She is a frequent Guest Choreographer and Faculty Member at the world renowned Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival - with her original pieces "That's all", "Trust in Me", "Stiletto" and "Shot Through the Heart" debuting on the historic Ted Shawn and Inside/Out Stages. Shannon was honored to co-Direct and Choreograph the 2014 Special Olympics Opening Ceremonies televised on FOX. She also recently Choreographed the Feature Film musical STUCK starring Amy Madigan and Giancarlo Esposito due in 2018. Shannon is honored to be an Adjunct Professor for the Commercial Dance Degree Program at Pace University in NYC. She is a Masterclass teacher, Dance educator and Faculty member of many renowned organizations including: The School at Jacob's Pillow; Broadway Dreams Foundation; Destination Broadway; Broadway Triple Threat; Quest Intensive; Theatre Arts Center NY; Stage Door Connections; AMDA NYC; Dance Upon a Dream; CAP 21 and Broadway Workshop.
