Shannon is the Choreographer of the groundbreaking world premiere new musical THE SECRET SILK by Stephen Schwartz, John Tartaglia and the legendary Jim Henson Creature Shop for Princess Cruise Lines, with 4 companies now playing internationally. She choreographed the highly anticipated new musical feature film STUCK starring Ashanti, Amy Madigan and Giancarlo Esposito. Shannon recently provided Musical Staging and Movement for the critically acclaimed World Premiere play THE PROMPTER at Bay Street Theatre starring Tovah Feldshuh. Her inventive choreography premiered in the re-imagined all puppet take on BEAUTY AND THE BEAST at the Maltz Jupiter Theatre. Shannon has conceived, created and premiered 4 original works for the world renowned Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival. She also premiered her original concept piece CRIMINAL at BC Beat in New York City. Shannon has a 25 year history as a renowned Broadway performer. She is internationally known for "I Gotcha" in the original Broadway cast of Fosse and is featured performing it on the Original Cast Album. She starred as "Ursula" opposite Christina Applegate in the Broadway revival of Sweet Charity. Shannon played "Miss Krumholtz" with Daniel Radcliffe, Darren Criss and Nick Jonas in the Broadway revival of How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying. Other Broadway credits: The Mystery of Edwin Drood (Florence Gill); The People in the Picture; Curtains; Look of Love; Contact (Girl in the Yellow Dress); Candide; Crazy for You. National Tours - A Chorus Line as "Sheila" and Pippin as "Fastrada". She has performed in respected theaters all over the country including The Kennedy Center, Goodspeed Opera House, La Jolla Playhouse, Ahmanson Theatre, North Shore Music Theatre and Theatre Under The Stars.
Shannon was featured in the groundbreaking television event The Sound of Music LIVE (Fraulein Schweiger) on NBC starring Carrie Underwood and was featured in the epic musical opening extravaganza of the hit film TED 2. In addition to performing "I Gotcha" live on The Today Show, she has made countless Television and Film appearances including 6 times on The Tony Awards, Live at Carnegie Hall, The Kennedy Center Honors,The Rosie O'Donnell Show, The Drama Desk Awards, PBS Great Performances, Live from Lincoln Center and Broadway on Broadway. She co-starred opposite Alan Thicke as "Monique" in the limited series Broadway Workshop, played "Suzy" in the indie hit Anything but Love, and was featured dancing with Kevin Spacey in Beyond the Sea.
Shannon is a Reconstucteur and Master Teacher for The Verdon/Fosse Legacy-helping to preserve and pass on the legendary Fosse style and vocabulary. She is proudly on the Guest Faculty at The School at Jacob's Pillow and an Adjunct Professor at Pace University Commercial Dance in New York City. She sits on the creative counsel of Unsung Musicals Company in NYC and is a certified Yoga Alliance Teacher.
Shannon was born and raised in Toronto, Canada, and has lived in NYC for over 25 years. Now a dual citizen, she considers herself very lucky to be deeply connected to both of these incredible places.
